CULLERCOATS 3 - 1 PONTELAND BARCA
12/05/10 17:39 Filed in: Match Reports
Despite dominating the opening exchanges Cullercoats found themselves a goal down at half time when they were hit by an excellent Ponteland Counter attack and a neat finish that Gave Tony Blacklock little chance.
A tight second half followed and Cullercoats couldnt break down the ponteland defence until they deployed both inform strikers in a 3-1-2 formation. Josh Irwins shot found Charlie James who notched his 16th Goal of the campaign with an excellent finish. Fellow hitman Luke Monaghan completed the fightback late on with his 20th and 21st goals of the season as Cullercoats deservedly took the 3 points

Cullercoats FC 2 - KYPC Panthers 2

Yet another close encounter between two evenly matched sides ended with the same result as the winter league match. Cullercoats were slow out of the blocks and it was KYPC who struck first when their tricky winger just got to a loose ball ahead of Lewis Williamson to slide a shot underneath Tony Blacklock. This setback duly woke Cullercoats up and Top Scorer Luke Monaghan played a huge part in the equaliser when his excellent shot struck a post and rebounded in off a KYPC defender. Monaghans fellow hitman Charlie James notched his 15th Goal of the season when he calmly rounded the keeper and slotted in. KYPC finished the game the stronger side and deserved a late equaliser but Cullercoats were unlucky not to hold on after soaking up massive second half pressure for long periods.

i was asked to take charge of the under 9s while there manager attends to his wife and new baby
and i have to say it was very enjoyable the team play really well and i was proud to be there manager for a day
it was a hard game but personally i felt we were the better team we played the first half with the wind at our backs (not what we wanted ) and ended the half 0-0 2nd half we were against the wind and went behind to a goal just after the restart the team battled well and we got the equaliser as the game went on it looked like the teams would share the point only to be denied to a last mint goal 2 mins from time all in all in was a fantastic performance well done all

U10s - KYPC Panthers 2 Cullercoats 2

Two equally matched sides fought out an entertaining draw at the Amberley Playing fields. A tense opening exchange with tackles flying in resulted in an early Injury to Skipper Oliver young who was forced off the field and replaced by David Shipley. The Panthers duly took advantage of the reshuffle in the Cullercoats defence and scored a sloppy opener when their centre forward was allowed to get in behind and slotted in past Tony Blacklock.
Shipley (AKA T Rex) scored the goal of the season so far for Cullercoats when he picked the ball up from the centre of defence and ignoring his defensive duties for a while he danced past the entire panthers team and toe poked a left footed equaliser. Cullercoats dominated the rest of the first half and could have taken a lead into the break when an excellent piece of football from Aaron Dixon released Charlie Barbrook down the right and his cross was met by Lewis Williamson whose volley was well blocked by a panthers defender. Steven Taylor was unleashing some menacing dead balls for Cullercoats that on another day would have found the net.
Cullercoats started the second half with two strikers but fell behind when they failed to deal with a panthers corner which was scrambled home. However the two striker formation paid off when Luke Monaghan found fellow hitman Charlie James who kept his head and slotted in an equaliser with minutes to spare.
